The right valet tray makes organizing your everyday carry items a breeze. Here’s where to start.
Anyone who’s spent any time around me – family, friends, coworkers – knows well my tendency to lose things.
Wallets, keys, passports, children, you name it.
That changed when I replaced the haphazard stack of books on my nightstand with a leather valet tray, or what fancy people call a “catchall.”
It was a game-changer, and one that should’ve happened years ago.
If you’re in the same boat (tray) I was, you’ll appreciate this rundown of our favorite leather valet trays to help finally get your stuff – and life – together.
What to Look For
Material: go with thicker leathers and avoid the fake stuff
Size: do a quick EDC inventory before deciding on size
Structure: some trays are boxy, others are softer and less rigid
Aesthetics: rough around the edges or office-appropriate?
Warranty: valets can get beat up, so it’s nice to have a warranty
Alta Andina Leather Valet Tray
What we dig: handcrafted in Colombia and guaranteed for life
This budget-friendly valet is sourced and handmade in the Andes Mountains of South America.
Hand-hammered copper rivets keep the naturally dyed, veg-tanned leather structured to hold keys, watches, wallets and more.
It’s one of the smaller trays on our list (5” x 6”), but its compact size means less space for clutter.
Saddleback Leather Firm Leather Valet Tray
What we dig: a premium valet that doesn’t cut corners
Saddleback Leather’s tray features high-quality full-grain leather and a pigskin-lined interior to hold your stuff – and that’s bound to hold up over time.
If not, take up the company on the 100-year guarantee they offer on all leather goods.
This one’s available in black, chestnut, dark coffee and tobacco, and although it sports a boxier structure, it still travels well if you need EDC organization on the go.
Bexar Goods Born to Roam Valet Tray
What we dig: the roamer’s valet tray of choice
This number’s big, boxy and bold. At 7″ x 8.5″, there’s more than enough room to hold all your stuff without things looking crowded.
The pressure-molded, veg-tanned leather wears a light, natural tone that ages well over time and doesn’t give a damn what you throw on it.
Leatherology Square Valet Tray
What we dig: a refined, classy organization option
Instead of using permanent rivets, the Square Valet Tray from Leatherology snaps open and closed, so you can travel with it completely flat or leave it buttoned up at home.
Either way, the 5” x 5” tray is enough to hold small EDC items and look good doin’ it.
The full-grain leather’s available in more than 10 colorways, including cognac, black and ginger.
Faribault Woolen Mill Valet Tray
What we dig: a collaborative effort wherein we all win
This valet is the lovechild of Fairbault Mill and Leather Works Minnesota, the former providing beautiful wool and the latter pitching in a nice handcrafted leather.
Together, these two materials combine to make what can only be described as a dapper valet tray that looks good in any season or setting.
Two sizes are available in two colors and any way you get it, everything’s made by hand in Faribault’s Minnesota mill.
Hide & Drink Leather Catchall
What we dig: our best value pick comin’ in under $25
This H & D tray’s perfect for small EDC budgets and guys who don’t need a massive catchall.
Both the interior and exterior are made with full-grain leather – the inside sports a softer version that’s easy on your stuff, and the outside’s thick and sturdy to stand up over the years.
The only downside? Once you snap this thing up, you only have about 4.5” x 4.5” inside, enough to hold a few items but not much else.

Mark & Graham Baseball Leather Catchall Tray
What we dig: elegantly inspired by America’s first pastime
Growing up, my uncle had an Audi with a leather interior designed like a baseball glove, stitching and all. This tray’s not that cool, but it’s in the same ballpark. Pun VERY MUCH intended.
This catchall’s made with the same leather used for baseball gloves, though it’s classed up with impeccable stitching and snap closures.
It comes with free monogramming and lays flat for travel.
Billykirk No. 471 Large Valet Tray
What we dig: a big ol’ tray that gives your EDC room to breathe
Some valet trays end up a hot mess of piled-up items; others, like the Billykirk No. 471, spread the love so you can see exactly what you’ve got goin’ on each morning.
At 9” x 7.5”, this tray’s also great for work or desktops. Pair it with Billykirk’s coin pouch for a little extra organization and call it a day.
Tanner Goods Valet Tray
What we dig: a high-end catchall handmade in Portland
Let’s be real, anything coming out of Tanner Goods gets our attention, and this upgraded valet tray is no different.
The tray’s made with two layers of bridle leather and bound with brass rivets that offer a 5” x 5” interior. It’s available in 5 colors, though we’re partial to cognac and saddle tan.
Onward Reserve Bison Leather Valet Tray
What we dig: bison beauty that’s all in the details
Each of Onward Reserve’s Bison Leather Trays has a unique aesthetic thanks to the natural variation of the leather.
But it’s the detail of this tray that makes it stand out: small brass rivets, leather tabs at each corner, and hand-stamped branding on the bottom.
It’s the type of catchall that gets passed down through generations, only getting better with age.
American Bench Craft Leather Catchall Valet Tray
What we dig: a thick catchall made by hand in Wilmington, MA
You’d be hard-pressed to find a valet that uses thicker leathers, and that makes this one of the sturdier catchalls on our list.
At 4.25” x 4.25”, it’s also one the more compact ones, but it’s also a deep 2.5” that offers a bit more volume than shallower trays.
It’s backed by a lifetime guarantee and comes with the option of embossing for a more personalized look.
Go Forth Goods Leather Valet Tray
What we dig: a simply designed, outdoors-inspired catchall
Don’t worry about the 2- to 3-day turnaround time on this tray – it’s worth the wait.
Featuring the brand’s adventure logo, sturdy brass rivets and 10-ounce full grain leather, this valet tray’s a perfect medium size and shape (7” x 7”).
It’s available in mocha, saddle and black, and comes with free customization. If you’re not a fan of most valet trays’ poked-out corners, you’ll love this one’s softer, rounded structure.
Manready Mercantile Leather Valet Tray
What we dig: a minimalist number inspired by Texas work ethic
Manready Mercantile has, in our humble opinion, one of the best mantras around: work hard, live well.
We couldn’t agree more, and a valet tray’s the perfect place to be reminded of it each day.
Their simple catchall comes in a handful of colors from leathers provided by Wicket and Craig of Pennsylvania. Everything’s done by hand in Houston (Astros wassup) and the tray comes in two sizes – 5” x 5” and 8” x 8”.
