Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains offer outdoor adventure in spades. Whether you want to hike, kayak or ski, you can do it all — and with your favorite furry friend in tow.

However, finding pet-friendly lodging in the region comes with its challenges. There are several ski and casino-geared resorts that are top picks for many travelers, but they might not necessarily be a good fit for canine companions.

To help you find the perfect Poconos spot to kick back at night with the entire crew, Fido included, here are 9 of the best pet-friendly cabin rentals in the Poconos.

1. Promise Kept Cabin

Why you should stay here: Classic cabin vibes with lots of outdoor space.

  • Sleeps: 16
  • Minimum Stay: 2 nights
  • Rates from: $377/night

Promise Kept Cabin is a traditional cabin in every sense. It sports the big soaring ceilings, the giant stone fireplace, the spiral staircase to the loft above, and more. Outside, you’ll find lots of room to hang out and relax with your up to two well-behaved dogs.

There’s a new, seven-person hot tub that’s just steps away from a fire pit. Multiple decks provide the perfect space to take in the woodsy scenery and sip your morning coffee or a sunset cocktail.

Need to host more than 16 people for your getaway? If you’re traveling as a big extended family or group of friends, or even as a group of coworkers on a company retreat, you can get even more space when you rent the similar cabin across the road, owned by the same host.

Why you should stay here: Mid-century modern appeal

  • Sleeps: 6
  • Minimum Stay: 3 nights
  • Rates from: $327/night

If you want something that’s a little less classic cabin and a little more Instagram-worthy, check out this mid-century modern A-frame cabin. Totally cute and cozy, it offers big private views, inside and out.

Enjoy taking a soak in your big tub next to the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the forest, before you head out for a day of exploring. Kick back and relax on the porch with Fido. Cook up something great on the grill. However you spend your time here, you’ll love every picture-perfect moment of it.

If you do decide to head out, though, you’ll find adorable small towns and their amenities just short drives away, including a smaller ski area, museums, antique stores, cafes and more. You’ll also get passes to use at the neighborhood beach and pools.

Whatever season of your visit, though, you’re sure to love the hot tub, fire pit and other outdoor amenities, all situated on a private lot in a cul-de-sac neighborhood.

Why you should stay here: All the cabin you need without the extras you don’t

  • Sleeps: 6
  • Minimum Stay: 2 nights
  • Rates from: $379/night

Mount Maplewood Lodge is an excellent pick for small families or groups of friends (including those furry family members). A little on the smaller side, it only has three bedrooms, but if you’re only traveling with a few other people, you don’t necessarily need or want a huge space.

Still, even without the multiple floors of near-endless bedrooms, this cabin delivers big time on classic cabin decor. All the little touches are there. You’ll also enjoy extra amenities like a hot tub and game room.

When you’re ready to head out and explore the area, you’ll find nearby attractions just a short drive away. In less than half an hour, you can be to multiple waterparks, shopping, skiing and more. Plus, the hosts offer a bevy of add-on amenities, such as food shopping, catering and guided activities like yoga or kayaking.

If you want the amenities a cabin offers, but don’t want to be that far away from civilization, this cottage-style cabin is exactly what you need. It features a sophisticated, cozy interior that’s a little more Southwest farmhouse than Pennsylvania woodland cabin.

You’ll find workout gear and a desk space in one area of the home, in case you need to check some emails or stick to your workout routine. The outdoor space includes a string light-lit, romantic area with a lush wall of greenery providing privacy. There’s also a fire pit with Adirondack chairs and corn hole.

Each guest receives an amenity badge that gives them access to neighborhood features such as a beach, mini golf, pools, sports courts and more. And if that’s not enough for you, the great location puts you within easy access of tons of top Poconos attractions, such as Camelback Mountain and Mount Airy Casino.

Why you should stay here: Rustic charm aplenty

  • Sleeps: 9
  • Minimum Stay: 2 nights
  • Rates from: $300/night

The Chestnut Log Cabin is rustic, sure, but that’s part of the appeal. The rough wood walls sport antlers. The stone front porch features dual rocking chairs. There’s a lot of plaid, everywhere you look.

However, while the house is all rustic log cabin, the outdoor spaces are a little more modern and chock-full of fun. You’ll have a big, sunny patio in the trees, on which you can really spread out and enjoy the scenery. A large fire pit in one corner provides some heat on those chilly, wintery nights.

A gas grill offers the perfect spot to cook up some family-style meals. One edge of the big lawn offers water views. You can even climb down to the water and enjoy a swim — along with your favorite pup, of course. Every outdoors lover will find something to enjoy here, during every season.
