Barndominiums aren’t exactly new, but these charming barn-to-home conversions are currently all the rage.
First cropping up in the U.S.’s southern states, barndominiums are a growing trend as both homes and beautiful vacation rentals. Their rise in popularity may be partially thanks to an episode of HGTV’s Fixer Upper series that showcased the step-by-step process of converting a horse barn to a modern home (now turned vacation rental, see #1).
Barndominiums — or barndos — are so named because they take the style and durability of a classic barn or warehouse and pair it with the comfort and design of a standard home. They’re often more affordable to build and exude the trendy farmhouse chic aesthetic through and through, so it’s not hard to see their appeal.
Now, can see for yourself why these trendy vacation rentals are in high demand with a stay at any of these exciting barndominiums across the U.S.
