When you want to explore Texas wine country, there’s no better place to stay than Fredericksburg, the city at the center of it all. Here are its best Airbnb rentals.
Located about an hour and a half drive from Austin and a little over an hour from San Antonio, Fredericksburg is a popular weekend destination for Texans and non-Texans alike. Here, wine enthusiasts have more than 50 wineries, vineyards, and tasting rooms to choose from, and plenty of great restaurants and shops to fill a long weekend.
It’s not all about the wine, though. Fredericksburg was founded in 1846 by German settlers, and you can still experience that heritage at one of the many local German restaurants or the Pioneer Museum.
Add to that the various antique shops and boutiques, and the National Museum of the Pacific War, and you have more than enough to fill up your itinerary. It’s also a big destination for horseback riding, and the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is pretty great, too.
